Fox River Blades

Fox River Blades

My passion for making things started young, building forts in my grandparents’ woods and crafting homemade weapons with friends in a basement workshop. That creativity eventually turned into a love for knives after discovering flea markets and watching videos of bladesmiths forging their own tools. Armed with a cheap angle grinder, scrap metal, and a determination to learn, I became completely absorbed in knifemaking. Through personal loss, setbacks, and difficult times, the workshop became both my focus and my therapy. What started as a hobby slowly grew into something bigger after encouragement from friends and mentors led me to share my work online and begin selling my first knives.

Over the years, life brought plenty of challenges, including long workdays, heartbreak, and even a life-changing car accident that left me having to relearn everyday tasks. But through it all, knifemaking remained the constant that kept me moving forward. In 2024, I relaunched Fox River Blades with a renewed focus on quality, craftsmanship, and purpose, refining every detail from design to finish. Today, I’m grateful to be building knives for a community that has supported me through every stage of the journey. – Jaden Schubert
